Is there a difference between the whole colors/parti colors with the amount of shedding or does it just depend on the dog?
The reason I ask, is because Kosmo (God love him!) gets hair EVERYWHERE. I have hardwood floors all throughout my house. There are constanly fluff balls flying places.. the problem is, when I sit down to examine said fluff balls, I find predominantly white hair....
When I put on their winter coats, Kosmo has a whole layer of dog hair that Faith does not have.. I also find white hair all over my bed. I've noticed when I bathe them, Faith sheds like crazy into the brushes, but Kosmo doesn't really.. I guess that could be the difference, but his hair doesn't come out like that after a bath and I can only do so much..
Faith's coat is long and exceptionally gorgeous at the moment, but Kosmo's is shorter and courser. I got them groomed 2 weeks ago and had some taken off their top, and while Faith's hair was gorgeous and laying down flat, kosmo looked like he stuck his paw into a light socket
So what's the deal? Avi says I'm banished to whole-colors forever if they really don't shed as much.. funny guy.. _________________

Kallie seems to shed more. When brush Buddy, I get much more hair off of him than I do Kallie. Granted, Buddy has a thicker coat, but I still think Kallie sheds a whole lot more. I don't find much black hair (or red for that matter), it seems to be all white. When I do find black hair, it's in clumps on the carpet. The stuff that weaves into the couch is all white. _________________

Wow, I find it to be the opposite. I've fostered several B&Ts and some blanket-backed Tris and OH MY GOODNESS the black hair gets everywhere!!!! _________________

Mindy has been shedding a lot. I think that's because she's ill though. I never thought she shed terribly much when she was younger but that may have been because we also had a Golden and we could make a new coat out of him every day I swear! I do notice that I'm always covered in white hair now though. _________________ Debbie

I really think it depends on the individual dog. We have all 4 colors and I see no ryme or reason as to which is worse for shedding. Our worse AND best are both blenheims, with everything in between. _________________

Rio seems to be a combination of both.
When i vacuum, most of the hair i pick up is white, but when i brush him i get a TON of brown hair from his ears, but hardly any white in the brush at all.

Lady has those wings like Miles too! We have two Blenheim's... but when we fostered Finnigan, a B and T, WOW did I notice a difference. We only seem to have the white shed from our girls, while Finnigan's black hair was EVERYWHERE. I could furminate him for hours longer than the girls. It's true though, when I brush the girls I only get red.
I have since just assumed that Ruby's would shed the least, followed by Blenheim's and B&T/Tri's. Maybe that's just me though! _________________

It seem that i find more white hair around. Of coarse when I brush I always get alot of Maxwell's hair (blenheim), but when I brush Bentley whom doesn't seem to shed as much but he has a thinner coat I can get plenty of blk. hair espesially form his beautiful long thick ears My bllack pants are always covered in white hair but if I have my white sweatshirt on and hold Bentley I can also have plenty of Black hair . God love them! |

Yea, poufy butt, lol, I can relate. At the wash place, I just let Pixelle sit, as she's already tired from agility. But I should really get a drying coat so that doesn't happen. I imagine Pixelle dog-talking to a friend, "Does this pouf make my butt look big?". I swear people think she's a bigger dog because of that poufy butt. _________________ "Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog. But you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."
