I haven't posted in a while! We are having a rough time here, but now I hope it will start getting better. I was reading all your agility posts! I love all the posts regarding cavaliers and agility and love admiring your good work with them.
Well, Lia and I are competing in the Catalan League this year and it's going well so far (considering we only train now about once every 2 weeks or even less it's great). We are placed 2nd for now (in small dogs) and we'll try to reach the first. In addition if you place whithin the 6 first of all dogs in the league (small-medium-standard) you also win a vacancy and the trip to the British Open of Agility.
This was the video of the jumpers we did on saturday. Sorry, no agility video, although it was a clean run too. Thanks to Dani for the arrangement.

I love watching you and Lia run courses. I would give anything to be young and fast like you! The team work between you two is amazing. I am sorry to hear you have had a rough time. I hope things go better for you from now on. I was wondering how you and your pups were doing.

Hey, thank you ladies!!! I've missed you!
Little Maia is a speed demon. She had surgery on her luxated patella on november and she's doing great so far, she is doing agility again, but we need tons of courses of practice and I wish I had the time. My plan is to start competing with Maia in September, when she will be almost 2 years old. We are not in a hurry though, since I haven't been feeling well lately, and have some problems running.
and Lia is blooming in agility, we haven't been trialing much this year, but she is doing great. She's a joy to run with, and she's always happy, no matter what. _________________ Laura, Lia and Maia

Holy cow 29.78!!!! That's speedy!!! Hang in there with Maia as the people that had the speediest Cavaliers I've ever seen had surgery on their dogs too. I'd always thought before seeing them that surgery on the patellas excluded agility but not so. I hope things will be better soon for you! _________________ "Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog. But you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."

Thank you for your nice comments, ladies.
I can't keep up with little Maia, she's soooo faaaaaaaaaast! I'm teaching her directionals to handle her from a certain distance, and even then, I make tons of refusals and DQ because I can't get there in time.
But it's not only her speed, at her age Lia trained once or twice a week, while little Maia trains once or twice in a month, poor baby.
The surgeon who did the surgery on Maia's knee told us her knee wouldn't be a problem, and that it was good to keep her well muscled up to keep the patella in place. He's such a good surgeon, we were very lucky to find him. He took little Maia as a challenge, he always tells Maia she has to be a Champion because her knee isn't an excuse anymore. Fingers crossed here that the patella won't pop out again _________________ Laura, Lia and Maia

They create a deep channel for the muscle to stay in so there's little chance it'll pop out when healed! It's almost as if all Cavaliers should have that to make them super fast! I'm working with directionals too as I'm way slower than you. I think Pixelle's slowed down waiting for me , but I can't complain as she trys so hard now. Funny but the fastest Cavalier I've seen is named Maya (different spelling though) and she's a Black and Tan also. Do a search on Youtube for Maya AKC 2007 Invitational Final, and you'll see them. They're super nice people! _________________ "Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog. But you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."
