This weekend was the Houston Reliant World Series of Dogs. It's the biggest exhibition that Lacey and I do. We only did our solo performance twice because we had a group routine to do as well.

On our first performance she was a little mopey, but the second one was a disaster! Another group routine of beginners took treat bags out there and dropped hot dogs, shredded chicken and whatever all over the arena. Lacey nose was glued to the floor. She must have thought she'd died and gone to the Pet Deli. It was a humbling experience.

Here is the better performance. With more practice I hope to enter it in competion in November. (No treats are allowed in this event.)

Very cute routine - I think you two make a great team. I especially like when she went backwards around you and when she jumped through your arms. Very Happy

What a fun video. Lacy is amazing and I love how her tail never stopped wagging the whole time. Looks like you were both having fun. I loved it. Great job by you both.

Very Happy OMG you did fantastic!! She did an excellent job walking backwards. In the last 1/3 she really showed enthusiasm. I dont blame her about the food, my two would have ignored me too with all that on the floor.

Idea Hey they clean ice between skaters someone needs a hand vac between doggie dance routines.

Razz Just too cute! Definitely a crowd pleaser. YOU know I am stealing this video to post huh? Wink

That was great! I wish I had somewhere to go and learn this. I think my boys might like it, especially Benny!

I don't understand how they can let treats in the competition circle? In agility it is not aloud for the exact reason of distracting the rest competeing afterwards. You can't even be with in several feet of the ring with any food or treats.

Treats are not allowed at freestyle competitions either, but they are permissable at exhibitions.

Canine Freestyle classes are becoming more common. There's a tri in Minnesota now that has a male handler!

The more I see of this the more I think I want to try it! Very cute. I love that she was so focused on you and that her tail was wagging a mile a minute! You could tell she was enjoying just as much as you.

Debbie we should pick a class half way between us and do it!

Gosh! I'd like to go to that one. I love Cassandra Hartman!

MDSA has several members in Canada that compete on video. If you would like I can find out where they train.

I just posted on the MDSA website info for where to train canine freestyle in Ontario. I'll let you know when I get some answers. I noticed there are members in Toronto, Blenheim and Thunder Bay.

I hope we have some luck!
